Pillar + Pride Relaunch Donations

As Pillar + Pride approaches 4 yrs of service to the community, I am compelled to revisit not only the incredible achievements but also the demands that are driving significant changes in the way Pillar + Pride will operate into the future.

 

First, for all that have supported Pillar + Pride THANK YOU!  Your encouragement, partnership, patronage, volunteerism, ideas and well intentioned prayers are all greatly appreciated!  Your support has led us to serving OVER 3,000 CUSTOMERS WORLDWIDE!

 

We begin this journey with 3 questions: 

 

- Does our community desire to live?

 

- If yes, do they desire to live well?

 

- If they desire to live well, will they support the concept we've developed called Pillar + Pride.

 

We went out on a limb to test and discover the outcomes of each of these questions with faith that each would be answered with a resounding "YES".   

 

The questions were tested through our inviting our community to access high quality vitamin, supplement, food products, aroma/sound therapy tools, a platform for Black owned/local businesses to launch/sell their products, educational classes/workshops/social media broadcasts, podcast recording/meeting space, pop up events and actively promoting the activities of like-minded community leaders and organizations.  We have shared countless unforgettable moments and cherish each interaction with you.

 

To a degree, I have found that the answers to the first and second leading questions were indeed "yes". We've received strong support from many like-minded individuals, families and organizations.  Unfortunately, I've proven unsuccessful in scaling the Pillar + Pride business to community sufficiently broad to make sustaining a brick & mortar operation being open and staffed 4-5 days per week.  

 

As a result, Pillar + Pride will has taken advantage of our 4yrs of experience and will leverage the learnings we secured to reimagine the most effective ways to continue serving our community... our Pillar + Pride fam! 

 

The categories that we have settled upon include people, products and processes.  

 

We've developed strong and far reaching relationships over the course of 4yrs, established proprietary products and worked hard to make business management processes not only efficient but profitable.

 

That being said it is time to make some tough choices.  The choices include:

To date most of our programs have been free to the public but have generated real costs to Pillar + Pride (Remember Your Power, King's Conversation, Financial Literacy Workshops, We Build Podcast etc.). 

 

Our intention is to continue our core programs.  However, to assist in making this strategic shift in direction, Pillar + Pride requires your continued support.  This includes financial support to fund administrative/legal/accounting fees required to transition to non-profit, technology upgrades, staffing, inventory, marketing consultation and business coaching expenses related to the above adjustments.  

 

Pillar + Pride products products are currently available in local Detroit retail establishments including Detroit People's Food COOP and All Things Detroit Marketplace with other retailers coming online soon!

 

The Pillar + Pride family has poured a lot of love, energy and effort into the community and now I am asking for a showing of support of this new chapter of Pillar + Pride. Regardless of the outcome, you can trust that Pillar + Pride will remain steadfast in the mission of enhancing wellness, education and empowerment within the community we love!
